Cooking on gas

Words cannot express my excitement. Gone is the camping stove, gone is nipping over to Emma’s for a slice of toast… I can grill my own since my little Super Calor Gas cooker is fully plumbed in. I’ve got hot running water too!

Tony had to do a little fixing as there was a loose connection or two in the cooker – the blowtorch came out and the leak detector. But after a couple of hours everything was shipshape and we were ready to make Swallow’s first proper cuppa.

Not sure what I’m going to do with the cat food, tea-towels and general gubbins that I was keeping in the oven (useful storage) but I’ll find room. For now I’m just going to gaze lovingly at my little cooker and do my washing up for the sheer thrill of it.

Congratulations on the mod-cons. But at the risk of being slightly boring, please make sure you have a carbon monoxide detector, and that it is working. xxxxx Tricia
